Shawn and Ron Monette started their lives on opposite sides of the continent and eventually found each other and built their lives together in the White Mountains of Arizona. Shawn is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, and Ron is from Worcester, Massachusetts. They met in Scottsdale, Arizona, in the early 1980’s and eventually got married in 1985. In 1990, they moved to the White Mountains.

 

The White Mountains is where they would go on to raise their two children, Clayton and Danielle. Both kids graduated from Blue Ridge High School: Clayton in 2005 and Danielle in 2015. Clayton now resides in Mesa, Arizona, with his wife and daughter and have their second child on the way. They will be moving back to Lakeside to raise their family this year and Ron and Shawn are so excited!  Danielle is earning her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health at Northern Arizona University and plans to continue her education through a graduate program in the Phoenix area.  

 

Ron and Shawn spent their first couple of years in Show Low working in the service business. In 1992, they started the first mobile food business in town. They ran other small business ventures throughout the 90’s in Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside. In the early 2000’s they made a longtime dream of theirs come true when they successfully built and ran a Bed & Breakfast in Lakeside. While running their B&B, Ron earned his real estate license in 2004 and Shawn earned hers in 2009. Ron then acquired his broker’s license in 2014 and they started their own brokerage, Monette Real Estate Services, in August of 2017.
